In the frames of "Green Urban Lighting" UNDP-GEF/00074869 project and in cooperation with RA municipalities, works continue to improve energy performance of lighting systems of major roads in Armenian cities. At present, Arshakunyats Avenue of Yerevan city is beeing equipped with light-emitting diode luminaires. Importantly, procurement of the luminaires is fully financed from the municipal revolving fund, established and operated with assistance of UNDP-GEF project using accumulated savings originated due to higher energy performance of the lighting systems involved. As of April 20, 2017, of 242 planned 44 luminaries were already installed.
