Training sessions on “Geographic information systems (GIS). Basic principles” and “Application of GIS in Hydrological and Climate Change related research” aimed at specialists օf “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” (HMC) were held in the period of May 31 - July 12, in the frame of UNDP-GCF Armenia’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP) project.
12 employees of Hydrology, Meteorology, Climate, Forest Monitoring services of “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” participated in 40- and 30-hour trainings respectively and received certificates.
At the end of the training sessions, Levon Azizyan, Acting Director of the HMC, thanked representatives of UNDP-GCF NAP project for the continued cooperation, noting that participants greatly appreciate the knowledge gained during the training, as it will help make their daily work more effective.
To note that previously in 2020 and 2021 “UAV uses in environmental monitoring” and "Assessment and forecast of water resources vulnerability and evapotranspiration based on satellite remote sensing data" training sessions were organized for the staff of HMC in the frame of UNDP-GCF NAP project.
