Another climate change adaptation contest aimed at schoolchildren announced in the frame of UNDP-GCF NAP project

Another “Adapt to climate change” contest aimed at schoolchildren was launched in the frame of UNDP-GCF Armenia’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP) project.


The contest aims to raise awareness among young people about climate change adaptation, promoting their engagement in climate action.It is open for schools and other educational organizations such as clubs, NGOs, specialized educational institutions, etc.


Contest submissions must relate to climate change adaptation issues, including but not limited to.


  • hazardous weather events and disaster response and community resilience building;
  • efficient use of water resources;
  • prevention of human health problems;
  • reduction of vulnerabilities in agriculture sector;
  • forest preservation, fire prevention;
  • ecotourism development;
  • use of nature-based solutions  
  • biodiversity conservation

 


The contest will be held in stages:


  • First stage: Implementation of “Adapt to climate change” awareness raising campaigns, submission of summary reports and submitting the electronic application for participation until November 24, 2022.
  • Second stage: Presenting the concluded activates during the online pitching event, to be held on November 26 from 14:00-19:00 via Zoom platform. Participants selected for this stage will be notified via email, containing the link of the event.
  • Third stage: The Finale of the contest will take place on December 8 in Yerevan.

 


On November 2, 14:00, UNDP-GCF NAP project experts will hold a consultative meeting explaining details of entry requirements, preparation and relevance, which will be open for all interested to participate.
