An online training of teachers on climate change and adaptation related subjects was held from October 19-22. The event was organized in the frame of UNDP-GCF Armenia’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP) project with a close cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia.
The three-day event was organised for teachers of secondary schools and colleges. It aimed at raising their awareness of topics particularly related to climate change and adaptation, as well as promoting possibilities of introduction of climate change related topics into the school curricula and integrating climate change adaptation related issues into programs of various school subjects.
The three-day training was attended by 36 teachers, representing 33 public schools from 8 regions and Yerevan city.
During 2020-2021, more than 270 teachers from all regions of Armenia participated in training sessions on climate change and adaptation related subjects held in the frame of NAP project. They have successfully integrated these subjects in classes, passing on the knowledge to their pupils.
