The series of training sessions implemented in the frame of UNDP-GCF Armenia’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP) project aimed at media students and faculty members of state universities continues
Another “Specificities of reporting on climate change adaptation in Armenia” training session was organized at “EcoEpicenter” of Yerevan Botanical Garden on March 25 engaging students of Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport Faculty of Journalism. A similar training for the lecturers of the institute was already organized in November 2021.
The training aimed at raising the awareness of media students on climate change and climate change adaptation, providing the necessary knowledge to find, study and report on relevant subjects in different sectors, thus contributing to awareness raising on climate change and climate change adaptation among the society and active reporting on these topics.
Participants of the training got acquainted with the climate change trends, impacts, risks and vulnerabilities, available adaptation measures in Armenia, and practices aimed at raising public awareness on climate change issues. In addition, during the tour of the Botanical Garden, they had the opportunity to get acquainted with the various ecosystems found in Armenia, main types of vegetation typical for them, existing dangers due to climate change, possible adaptation measures and conservation processes of endemic species.
