At a workshop held on November 11, 2025, the findings of the study “Improving Gender-Sensitive and Socially Inclusive Criteria for Armenia’s 3rd Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC 3.0)” and the proposed sectoral and cross-sectoral targets for gender equality and social inclusion in the energy, water resources, agriculture, and tourism sectors were presented and discussed with representatives of the energy sector. The event was organized under UNDP "Climate Promise Armenia: From Pledge to Impact" program.

“With support from the UNDP Climate Promise program, Armenia has developed its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC 3.0) and accompanying Implementation Plan, placing strong emphasis on gender-responsive and socially inclusive measures. This process ensures that climate policy goes beyond emission reductions and technical adaptation efforts to integrate the principles of equity, justice, and inclusion. It also promotes the active engagement of women, youth, and vulnerable groups,” in his welcoming remarks noted UNDP Climate, Environment and Resilience Portfolio Manager Hovhannes Ghazaryan ․

During the event, gender-sensitive and socially inclusive energy efficiency and renewable energy measures included in the 4th National Energy Efficiency Action Plan (NEEAP 4, 2026–2030) of the National Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Program (NESREP 2022–2030), implemented with GIZ support, were also presented.

The event brought together more than 35 representatives from the RA Ministries of Environment; Labor and Social Affairs; Territorial Administration and Infrastructure; the CSO Coalition; energy experts; non-governmental and international organizations; and the private sector.
