During the workshop held on December 19, the preliminary results of the climate risks and vulnerability assessment of Yerevan city and main approaches of the development of city’s adaptation plan were presented and discussed with stakeholders during a workshop held on December 19 in Yerevan Municipality. The works are carried out by "Adwise Consulting" LLC in the frame of UNDP-GCF Armenia’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP) project.
The workshop aimed at presenting and discussing results of the climate risks and vulnerability assessment of different economic spheres of Yerevan city, highlighting directions and types of activities as well as stakeholder groups that are most vulnerable to climate change. It also aimed at presenting preliminary adaptation measures and collecting feedback from the stakeholders to assist in the development of the adaptation plan of Yerevan city and finalizing the list of measures.
UNDP Climate Change Programme Coordinator Diana Harutyunyan and First Deputy Mayor Levon Hovhannisyan delivered opening remarks stressing the importance of continuous planning and implementation of adaptation measures in the process of increasing and strengthening Yerevan's resilience to climate change challenges.
