Alt

Within the framework of Building Armenia’s National Transparency Framework under Paris Agreement project, data evaluation was conducted and a road map for implementation was developed.

The starting point for the Armenian air emission accounts will be the national greenhouse gas inventory and the national emissions inventory.  The main challenge in developing air emissions accounts is to re-distribute the inventory data to Nomenclature of Economic Activities groups, which is used in the European Statistical System.

Supported by the Building Armenia’s National Transparency Framework under the Paris Agreement project, the RA Statistical Committee works on the development of the methodology for compilation of air emissions accounts. The Project’s International Consultant Julie Hass mentions that there are issues like different codes used in business and pollution registers, lack of data on household-owned transport and fuel use for heating which need to be addressed.
