Apart from the increase of global annual temperature, climate change affects precipitation patterns having a significant negative impact on natural ecosystems, economy and human health.
In the context of the changing climate and its negative impacts, a need arises to optimize and restructure urban green areas.
This guidebook, developed in the frame of UNDP-GCF Armenia’s National Adaptation Plan project, summarizes the current state of green areas in Yerevan, Gyumri and Vanadzor, notably, existing conditions of the infrastructures, types of trees and shrubs as well as their adaptation capacities and possibilities in the context of current and predicted climate change.
