Long-term low greenhouse gas emission development strategy of the Republic of Armenia (until 2050)

With the adoption of the Long-term Low Greenhouse Gas Emission Development Strategy (until 2050), the Government of the Republic of Armenia reaffirms its ambition to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 2.07 t CO2 equivalent per capita by 2050.

 

With this Strategy the Government aims to ensure a long-term agenda for climate commitments, provide early and predictable signals for local and international investors, harmonize development goals with climate actions, as well as systematically consider the climate mitigation possibilities across the entire economy, pursuing to transform the existing challenges into real possibilities.

 

The strategy was developed by the Ministry of Environment with the support of "EU4Climate" EU-UNDP regional project.
