On April 19, a national workshop on NDC Partnership Plan of the Republic of Armenia was held with the participation of over 60 representatives from the government, civil society and international donors.
The objective of the workshop was to contribute to the stakeholder awareness on the role of the Partnership Plan in coordinating international assistance in Armenia and ultimately in mobilizing technical and financial support at speed and scale. The workshop was designed to ensure that the interests of a wide range of stakeholders in the country are represented and incorporated within the framework of the NDC Partnership Plan.
Mihaela Stojkoska, UNDP Resident Representative a.i. in Armenia, Anna Mazmanyan, Deputy Minister of Environment, Varos Simonyan, Deputy Minister of Environment, and Romeo Bertolini, Deputy Director of the NDC Partnership Support Unit welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of the Partnership Plan as a useful tool for the Government to track the progress of the country’s NDC implementation and deliver proactive measures when required.
In August 2018, Armenia joined the NDC Partnership which goal is to assist its member developing countries in the process of development and effective implementation of NDCs. The work on NDC Partnership Plan began in September 2019.
