UNDP Climate Change Program in collaboration with the RA Ministry of Nature Protection organized an eco-training and a cognitive visit to “Dilijan” national park for 65 pupils of 5 schools: N 89 primary school named after Daniel Varujan, N 20 school after John Kirakosyan, "Hay Krtutyun" educational foundation, "Usum" comprehensive school and Gegharkunik secondary school in Gegharkunik region.
The role and importance of SPAs in biodiversity conservation and sustainable development processes, major bottlenecks of climate change and desertification, fauna and flora, rare plant and animal species, their preservation and ecotourism were presented to the schoolchildren.
After the open lesson, the schoolchildren visited the red deer breeding center accompanied by “Dilijan” national park workers, the eco path in the vicinity of Lake Parz, where they got acquainted with the reintroduction project of red deer disappeared from the forests of Dilijan, as well as the process of promoting environmental awareness.
