The "Climate Bulletin of the Republic of Artsakh" is intended to provide information on climate for the economic sectors of the Republic of Artsakh, for economic planning, disaster risk reduction, tourism development, transport, energy, urban construction design, as well as to be used in educational and scientific institutions and in climate change studies.
"Climate Change Issues of the Republic of Artsakh" presents the outputs of climate change assessment and projection in Artsakh. The publication can be useful for climate risk management, as well as for development planning in the region, assessment of vulnerabilities of various sectors of the economy, development of adaptation measures. Educational and research institutions are encouraged to use the data presented in the publication as baseline in addressing the impacts of climate change.
The Fourth National Communication has been developed by the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia with the funding of the Global Environmental Facility and support of the United Nations Development Programme in Armenia within the framework of the “Development of Armenia’s Fourth National Communication to the UNFCCC and Second Biennial Update Report” project.
Energy balance is a valuable instrument for the assessment, documentation and monitoring of the energy efficiency and renewable energy indicators in the country for the given year.
GHG Inventory report is prepared under coordination of the Ministry of Environment with financial support of Global Environment Facility and with the assistance of the United Nations Development Programme.
Armenia’s Second Biennial Update Report (2BUR) has been developed by the RA Ministry of Nature Protection with the funding of the Global Environmental Facility and support of the United Nations Development Programme in Armenia within the framework of the “Development of Armenia’s Fourth National Communication to the UNFCCC and Second Biennial Update Report” project.
The Report is prepared within the scope of the “Development of Armenia’s Fourth National Communication to the UNFCCC and Second Biennial Update Report” UNDP-GEF Project.

On July 13, the “National Bureau of Expertise” SNCO hosted the presentation of the manual "Methodical Instructions for the Detection and Investigation of Illegal Logging Crimes", that is co-authored by the the specialists of the Bureau and “Healthy Forest” company based in the Russian Federation.
On 31 May, the event dedicated to Proceedings Presentation of the 7th International Renewable and Clean Energy Conference gathered together around 30 participants, including representatives from the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, local and international practitioners from academic community, private sector, university students and experts in the field of renewable energy sector.
On 6-7 May, the final workshop of “Mainstreaming Sustainable Land and Forest Management in Mountain Landscapes of North-Eastern Armenia” project took place.
Yerevan, 15 April 2021 – Today an event on presentation of “Climate Box Toolkit” was organized in Yerevan in the scope of UNDP “Climate Change Education and Awareness Project - Climate Box” project, funded by the Russian Federation and co-funded by UNDP.
On 26-27 November, the 7th International Renewable and Clean Energy Conference titled “Energy for Secure Future – Low Carbon Development in Armenia: Science, Innovation and Practice” was held in the framework of “Development of Armenia’s Fourth National Communication to the UNFCCC and Second Biennial Update Report” Project, implemented by UNDP in Armenia.
On 17 May 2020 the Fourth National Communication of Armenia (NC4) developed by the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia was submitted to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Secretariat.
Amid the global crisis of COVID-19 the Executive Secretary of the UN Climate Change in her statement calls for solidarity, hope and resolve of all to get through this challenge.
In the framework of UNDP-GEF “Development of Armenia’s Fourth National Communication and Second Biennial Update Report to the UNFCCC” project the new report of “2018 Energy Balance of the Republic of Armenia” was released.
The first Road Map for the development of climate change-related statistics is already available and is approved by the State Council on Statistics of the Republic of Armenia on 27 February 2020.
On 4 November, 2019, the Government of Armenia hosted the UNFCCC Secretariat (UN Climate Change) in collaboration with the FAO (United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization) to launch a workshop titled “Quality Assurance of the National Greenhouse Gas Inventory Management System and National Greenhouse Gas Inventories of Armenia”, that will last until 08 November, 2019.
On 27 September, the Inception Workshop of “Armenia's Third Biennial Update Report to the UNFCCC” (BUR3) Project was organized by the UNDP Armenia Climate Change programme. The project assists the country in the preparation and submission of its Third Biennial Update Report to the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) for the fulfillment of its obligations to the Convention.
On 25 September 2019, UNDP Climate Change Program hosted community officers from more than 20 cities of Armenia in the UN Conference Hall.
In the frames of UN Climate Action Summit, Monday, 23 September, UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner delivered a speech during Global NDC Outlook Launch & Climate Promise Event. UN Development Programme considers key to climate success three elements: ambition, acceleration and mobilization.
On the 4th of September 2019 a workshop titled “Leading on Climate Change: Putting Transparency Frameworks and the Paris Agreement into Action” was organized within the framework of “Development of Armenia’s Fourth National Communication to the UNFCCC and Second Biennial Update Report” project, implemented by UNDP in coordination with the Ministry of Environment.
United Nations Development Programme hosted a workshop titled “Gender Issues in Climate Change and Energy Sectors” on 28 August 2019.
Global warming is a reality, the consequences of which are tangible in Armenia.
This Report responds to the invitation for IPCC ‘… to provide a Special Report in 2018 on the impacts of global warming of 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels and related global greenhouse gas emission pathways’ contained in the Decision of the 21st Conference of Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change to adopt the Paris Agreement.
On July 9, 2019 a workshop on Review and Amendments on the RA Draft Law “On Atmospheric Air Protection” was organized at Hyatt Place Yerevan Hotel.
The communities of Ijevan, Martuni and Gavar celebrated the Sustainable Energy Day, which was organized within the framework of the EU Sustainable Energy Week, on June 25-27, 2019.
At the UN Climate Change Conference in Bonn 9 developing countries have presented an update on their activities to curb and reduce greenhouse gas emissions before 2020. This took place at an event known as the Facilitative Sharing of Views (FSV), on the 19th June, 2019.
The “Climathon Yerevan” aimed at the solution of climatic problems has been initiated by “Sustainable Energy Development Fund” with the support of Yerevan Municipality.
UNDP Climate Change Program in collaboration with the RA Ministry of Nature Protection organized an eco-training and a cognitive visit to “Dilijan” national park for 65 pupils of 5 schools: N 89 primary school named after Daniel Varujan, N 20 school after John Kirakosyan, "Hay Krtutyun" educational foundation, "Usum" comprehensive school and Gegharkunik secondary school in Gegharkunik region.
On September 27-29, a three-day international conference “Modern problems of Geography and Geology” dedicated to YSU 100th anniversary took place at YSU. The organization of the Conference was supported by the UNDP Climate Change Program.
The Exchange on Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV)/Transparency between Lebanon and Armenia took place on 13-14 September, 2018 in Beirut, Lebanon.

November 16, 2017, the workshop, aimed at discussion of the feasible solutions for application of the biogas production from the agriculture waste at medium and large agricultural farms in Armenia, was conducted with participation of the international expert Jan Pavlik with 13 years of professional experience in biogas technologies design and application.
On June 8, 2017 a round table was held on “Women's Role in Energy” at “EcoLur” Press Club.
The workshop on Renewable Energy and Sustainable Energy Development Community Program was conducted on June 2, 2017.
