The project will contribute to the objectives of the country's National Adaptation Plan and will draw upon the work on vulnerability assessments conducted for several sectors under UNDP-GCF implemented project. Project is set to contribute to filling the gap in identified gaps on lack of agreed scientifically grounded risk assessment techniques and capacities in the country. The project will benefit from the extensive studies emerging under Warsaw International Mechanism for Loss and Damage and Santiago Network aimed at development of internationally agreed climate related risks and associated economic and non‐economic loss and damage assessment guidelines.
Based on conducted analysis and consultations with national stakeholders will be developed:
(i) climate risk assessment technical guides for at least two priority sectors;
(ii) (ii) will be identified two project ideas on practical approaches to averting, minimizing, and addressing loss and damage associated with climate risks, including their frameworks of funding instruments, modalities, sources and implementing partners.
The activities delivered under the project will supplement the comprehensive National Adaptation Plan development for the period of 2026‐2030 under planned NAP‐2 project.
